Kopper Carter
Sean and I have been working together since 2017. Joey Franzo recommended him to me, and I am so thankful to both of them. I had lost the motivation to train and was ready to move on to another sport. Sean had eight weeks to prepare me for a meet, and he more than delivered. Our first prep reignited my passion and showed me I had a lot more potential than I realized. He took the time to teach me about RPEs, accumulating fatigue, what rep ranges worked best for me, and cues I needed to pay attention to for safety and maximizing loads, which was refreshing to me because I was relatively clueless. Sean surrounds himself with some of the most knowledgeable people and continuously learns. I admire him for his patience and ability to share his knowledge with all his lifters. He genuinely cares about my well-being, not just my lifting, which sets him apart from a lot of coaches. I can also say I have never seen a coach run around and jump through hoops for a lifter as Sean does.
At Raw Nationals, he ran to the A7 booth to get me a pair of socks before deadlifting because mine were too short, he even pulled the ones I already had on down for me because of the baby powder. I would never have asked him to do that, but that's just the kind of person Sean is. He also stays at the Jury table; it's hilarious but touching because he's fighting to make sure we get the right call. I consider him family. He never minces words and works tirelessly to make me the best lifter I can be. He is also great with pain and injury management. I had a devastating back injury leading up to Nationals. He came up with a recovery plan, scaled my training back, and incorporated different exercises/movements until I fully recovered. I trust him because he has always focused on my best interests and pushes me when I need it.
Sean took me to a whole new level, and without him, I wouldn't have made it this far.
